STORY

The TR7 was the Triumph sports car that replaced the TR6, with a wedge-shaped body, sold from 1975 to 1981. Production began at the Speke plant near Liverpool, which suffered from labour problems and poor build quality. Production moved to the Canley plant in 1978 and then to Solihull. A small number of 16-valve Sprint cars were built in the late 1970s, and the drophead convertible followed in 1979.
