STORY
The TR8 was the TR7 with a 3.5-litre Rover V8 engine, rated at about 135 PS (133 bhp) in its carburettor form. Production began in 1978, and it was sold mainly as a convertible. Triumph's own V8 from the Stag was passed over because of its weight and service record, so the Rover unit was used. Most cars went to the United States and Canada. It was built until 1981, with carburettor and fuel-injected versions.
