It was unveiled on 9 April 2015 as the GTR's replacement. It used GM LS-family V8s, from the 480 bhp LS3 to a supercharged unit of about 1,020 bhp. The Ultima RS succeeded it around 2019-2020.
The Evolution replaced both the GTR and the Can-Am with a stiffer chassis, more power and more refinement, while keeping the mid-engine layout of about 1 tonne. It was offered as a coupe and convertible, in kit or turnkey form, with up to about 1,020 bhp from a supercharged engine.
