STORY

The Insignia replaced the Vectra in 2008 as Vauxhall's large family car, and won European Car of the Year in 2009. It had flowing styling and aimed to be more upmarket. Offered as a hatchback, saloon and Sports Tourer estate, it included the high-performance VXR and all-wheel-drive versions. The second generation of 2017 grew lighter and larger before the model ended in 2022 as the segment declined.
