STORY

The Omega was Vauxhall's executive rear-wheel-drive saloon and estate, sold from 1994 to 2003 as the successor to the Carlton and badged Opel Omega B elsewhere. It served widely as a British police motorway car and ministerial transport, and the standard V6 Omega was rebadged as the Cadillac Catera for the US market. A separate low-volume Omega V8 project fitted a Corvette-sourced 5.7-litre engine, but it was cancelled after only a handful of pre-production cars.
