The Lux SA2.0 was VinFast's first SUV. It was shown with the Lux A2.0 sedan in Paris in 2018 as proof that Vietnam could build a full-size premium car. It used a platform licensed from the BMW X5 (F15), with the same BMW-sourced 2.0-litre turbo four and Pininfarina-designed bodywork. It was VinFast's flagship of its short combustion era, before ICE production ended in late 2022.
A seven-seat SUV launched alongside the Lux sedan on a platform licensed from the BMW X5, sharing its BMW-licensed turbo petrol engine and Pininfarina design language.
