STORY

Volkswagen unveiled the Atlas Cross Sport at its Chattanooga, Tennessee plant in October 2019, with sales planned for spring 2020. The midsize SUV has five seats and keeps the 117.3-inch wheelbase of the Atlas, while being 2.8 inches shorter and 2.3 inches lower. Volkswagen put an additional 340 million dollars into the plant to build it alongside the Atlas and Passat, on top of more than 2.6 billion dollars already invested there. For the 2020 model year buyers could choose a 2.0-litre turbocharged four rated at 235 hp or a V6.
