STORY

Volkswagen premiered the Passat CC at the Detroit show in January 2008. The four-door coupe was built at Emden, with a 1.8 TSI, a 2.0 TSI, a 2.0 TDI and a 3.6-litre V6 with 4Motion all-wheel drive at the top of the range. In November 2016 it was reported that assembly of new CCs in Germany had stopped ahead of a replacement expected in 2017, which Volkswagen did not confirm. That replacement was the Arteon, which Volkswagen introduced at Geneva in March 2017 as the car that replaced the CC in most markets.
