The first Mk7 Golf GTI is a five-door hatchback built from 2012 to 2017, with a 2.0-litre TSI four-cylinder making 220 PS and a 6-speed manual. Before the 2016 facelift an optional Performance Pack raised output to 230 PS and added larger brakes and a limited-slip front differential, an electro-hydraulically controlled multi-plate unit called VAQ.

STORY

The Volkswagen Golf is a compact car introduced in 1974 as the front-engine, front-wheel-drive successor to the Beetle, one of the most influential and best-selling cars in history.
