Volkswagen presented the ID.7 on 17 April 2023 as its electric flagship sedan, with a range of up to 700 km WLTP, built in Emden. The official start of production followed there at a ceremony on 21 August 2023, although small numbers had been built since June 2023. It launched as the Pro with a 77 kWh battery rated at about 620 km WLTP. The Pro S, with a net 86 kWh battery, is rated at up to 700 km WLTP and charges at up to 200 kW.
VW's electric executive fastback saloon, launched in 2023 as a battery-electric successor in the Passat/Arteon segment. It is built on MEB with a large 86 kWh battery, is designed for comfortable long-distance driving and is also offered as the ID.7 Tourer estate.
