STORY

The Volkswagen Santana is the notchback saloon version of the second-generation (B2) Passat, launched in 1981. European production ended in the 1980s, but the Santana became very important in China, where it was one of the first modern cars built by Shanghai Volkswagen. It stayed in production for decades as a standard taxi and fleet car. It was also assembled in several other markets under various names.
