STORY

The Volkswagen T-Cross was presented on 25 October 2018 at events in Amsterdam, Shanghai and São Paulo, as a new small SUV. It rides on the MQB platform shared with the sixth-generation Polo, is 4.11 m long on a 2.56 m wheelbase, and has a boot of 385 to 455 litres with a rear seat that slides 14 cm. The European launch engines were a 1.0 TSI with 95 or 115 PS, a 1.5 TSI with 150 PS and a 1.6 TDI with 95 PS. European deliveries began in April 2019, with the car built alongside the Polo at Pamplona. An updated version was shown on 5 July 2023 with dealer availability from the first quarter of 2024, and Volkswagen then counted about 1.2 million customers worldwide.
