STORY
Volkswagen presented the T-Roc on 23 August 2017 in Como, Italy, as a compact crossover on the MQB platform, with the European market launch following in November 2017. It is built at the Autoeuropa plant in Palmela, Portugal. A cabriolet had its world premiere at the IAA in Frankfurt in September 2019 and reached the market in spring 2020. The second generation was presented on 27 August 2025 on MQB evo, the third Volkswagen SUV on that platform after the Tiguan and the Tayron, again built in Palmela. Volkswagen puts first-generation sales above two million units, which makes it the brand's most successful SUV after the Tiguan.
