The Tacqua is a compact SUV for the Chinese market built on the T-Cross, which Volkswagen had presented on 25 October 2018 in Amsterdam, Shanghai and São Paulo. FAW-Volkswagen launched the Tacqua in December 2019, more than a year after the T-Cross world premiere, with seven variants in the 2019 line-up starting at 114,900 yuan. Buyers could pick a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine with a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic, or a 1.4 TSI with a seven-speed DSG, and every version drove the front wheels.
