STORY

Volkswagen unveiled the Taos on 13 October 2020. Latin American cars come from the General Pacheco plant in Argentina, with a 1.4-litre TSI of 150 PS. The US version is built by Volkswagen de Mexico in Puebla, where production began in February 2021 ahead of dealer deliveries by the end of the second quarter of 2021. US cars use a new 1.5-litre turbo four with 158 hp and 184 lb-ft, an eight-speed automatic and optional 4Motion with a seven-speed DSG. The Taos sits below the Tiguan, and at 175.8 inches it is 9.3 inches shorter.
