780 Turbodiesel (D24TIC)

STORY

Volvo presented the 780 at the 1985 Geneva show as the exclusive two-door at the top of the 700 range. Bertone built every car in Turin. The early cars used the PRV V6 and a turbocharged four-cylinder was added later. In all 8,518 were made between 1985 and 1990, according to Volvo records quoted by Volvo Bertone. The last year, the 1991 model year, saw the car badged simply Coupe and sold with turbo engines only. It is the Bertone coupe, a different car from the 760 saloon and from the C70 coupe that appeared in 1996.
