STORY

The Volvo Amazon, launched in 1956 and known internally as the 120 series, was a milestone car that built Volvo's international reputation for safety and quality. From 1959 it was the first car in the world to offer three-point front seat belts as standard, based on the invention of Volvo engineer Nils Bohlin. It was built until 1970 as a two- and four-door saloon and an estate. It became a classic and helped Volvo expand into export markets.
