STORY

Volvo launched the C30 in 2006 as a compact premium hatchback, and the car was built at Ghent in Belgium. In 2011 came the battery-electric C30 Electric, a limited run that began with an initial batch of 250 cars. It had a 24 kWh battery, an electric motor of 111 hp and a quoted practical range of up to 150 km. The ordinary C30 stayed in production at Ghent until December 2012. In June 2012 a Volvo spokesman said it would be built until further notice, and the decision to end it came in the autumn.
