STORY

Volvo revealed the C40 Recharge on 2 March 2021 as a second fully electric Volvo after the XC40 Recharge. It sits on the CMA platform, carries a 78 kWh battery and has twin electric motors, one on each axle. Volvo announced it as an online-only purchase and quoted about 420 km of range at the reveal, a preliminary WLTP-based figure, and began production at Ghent in Belgium on 7 October 2021. Volvo's stated aim is to sell only fully electric cars by 2030.
