EC40 Single Motor Extended Range

STORY

The EC40 is the C40 Recharge under a new name. Volvo introduced the C40 Recharge in 2021 as an electric model sold exclusively online, according to TimesLive, and production started in October 2021 at the Ghent plant in Belgium, where it was built alongside the XC40 Recharge. On 20 February 2024 Volvo renamed its electric XC40 and C40 as EX40 and EC40 and dropped the Recharge badge. At the same time it offered a Performance software pack for Twin Motor cars that adds 25 kW, for 325 kW (436 hp) in total. In the US the EC40 name arrived only with model year 2026.
