S60 T8 Twin Engine R-Design

S60 III (2018-) · 2019–2020AWDSedan

Plug-in hybrid: 223 kW (303 hp) petrol engine plus a 65 kW rear electric motor, 11.6 kWh lithium-ion pack, combined 390 hp in the European rating (400 hp SAE in the US). Volvo publishes torque only as '400 Nm + 240 Nm (up to)' and no single combined figure, so torque is left empty. The T8 was not offered in Momentum trim - the Volvo Car USA MY2019 price table lists it as 'Not Available' for Momentum and only in R-Design and Inscription: https://web.archive.org/web/20191113050621/https://www.media.volvocars.com/us/en-us/media/pressreleases/233994/volvo-car-usa-announces-model-year-2019-s60-pricing-and-care-by-volvo-subscription-plan

STORY

The S60 is Volvo's compact executive saloon, introduced in 2000 as a sportier replacement for the S70. The first generation spawned the high-performance S60 R with all-wheel drive, while the 2010 second generation adopted Volvo's more dynamic design language. The third generation arrived in 2018 built on the SPA platform and was notably the first Volvo produced at the company's plant in South Carolina.
