STORY

The S80 launched in May 1998 at Torslanda, Volvo's plant at Gothenburg, as the large sedan of the range, with a T6 six-cylinder rated 272 PS (200 kW) at the top. The second generation went into production in mid-2006, and its 4.4-litre V8, built by Yamaha in Japan and rated 315 PS, was offered until the end of the 2010 model year with all-wheel drive only. Volvo discontinued the S80 in 2016, and the S90 took over as the large sedan.
