STORY

The V50 was the wagon counterpart of the second-generation S40 sedan and arrived in 2004, taking over from the V40 wagon that had launched in 1995, with the new S40 sedan as its basis. In the US it was a 2005 model, where the T5 five-cylinder turbo was rated 218 hp, the same 162 kW (220 PS) engine as in Europe. The V50 stayed in the Australian range until June 2012, and in the US the S40 and the V50 ended with the 2011 model year.
