The V70 estate arrived in late 1996. Volvo showed the third generation at Geneva in March 2007 together with the raised XC70, and UK sales were due to start that September. The 3.2-litre inline-six in the line-up is rated at 175 kW (238 PS), and the XC70 launched with a 185 PS D5 diesel as well. The last V70 was built in Gothenburg in late April 2016, after production that began in 1996, and XC70 production was due to end in the second week of May.
Mid-size estate built from 1996 to 2016. It was a leading Volvo wagon of its time, praised for space and safety. It succeeded the 850 estate and ran through three generations.
