STORY

Volvo showed the V70 XC, the raised all-wheel-drive version of the V70, at the Frankfurt show in 1997, with a 2.5-litre turbo rated at 193 hp. The third generation, shown at Geneva in March 2007, came with standard all-wheel drive and two launch engines: a 3.2-litre inline-six at 175 kW (238 PS) and the D5 diesel at 185 PS. Production of the XC70 finished in mid-May 2016, a few weeks after the last V70 left the line.
