The Vortex Corda was the Chery Amulet built and sold in Russia under the Vortex name. TagAZ in Taganrog signed a licence agreement with Chery Automobile and its Russian arm in summer 2010, and Vedomosti reported test assembly starting in mid October. The first Taganrog-built cars passed state certification, and by 22 November 2010 Kolesa.ru wrote that they had been sent to dealers. The first cars had a 1.5-litre 109 PS petrol engine that met Euro-4 and a five-speed manual, in one basic trim at a recommended 349,000 rubles. Vedomosti noted that TagAZ's debts to Sberbank and VTB would decide whether full production could follow. The car was listed for the years 2010 to 2012.
