STORY
Coffee 01 is the export name of the Wey Mocha PHEV, the top model of Great Wall's family of coffee-named SUVs introduced in 2021. It is built on the Lemon platform with a two-speed DHT plug-in hybrid driveline, which combines a turbocharged 2.0-litre four with electric motors. It has strong performance and a useful electric-only range. It led Wey's launch in Europe: it was shown at the 2021 IAA in Munich and sold in Germany from 2022 as one of the first Chinese premium PHEV SUVs offered in Western Europe. Generous standard equipment and a large-battery PHEV layout were its main arguments against established German rivals.
