The Almaz is a compact crossover SUV introduced in 2019 for Indonesia, where it was assembled locally and sold as a family seven-seater. It is closely related to the Baojun 530 sold in China and to the MG Hector and the second-generation Chevrolet Captiva sold in other markets, all sharing the same platform. Power comes from a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder with a CVT or manual gearbox. The Almaz Hybrid later joined it, bringing a hybrid powertrain to the range.
The Wuling Almaz is a compact crossover SUV sold as a Wuling in Indonesia. It launched in 2019 as Wuling's SUV for Indonesia. Underneath it is a rebadged SAIC-GM-Wuling product related to the Baojun 530. It has a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine driving the front wheels through a manual or CVT transmission. It came in five- and seven-seat layouts, with a voice-command system, and gave Southeast Asian buyers a well-equipped family SUV at a value price. The Almaz helped Wuling build its place in the Indonesian market.
