One car, two names: the plug-in hybrid subcompact study shown first as metroproject quattro.
Audi revealed this three-door, four-seat subcompact study in Tokyo in 2007 as the metroproject quattro. It paired a 1.4 TFSI petrol engine driving the front wheels through S tronic with a 30 kW electric motor on the rear axle, a plug-in hybrid layout with about 100 km of electric range. In 2008 the same car appeared in Leipzig as the A1 project quattro and offered a design direction for a future compact Audi.
