Audi Avantissimo (2001)

A V8 twin-turbo luxury estate study that never reached production.

The Avantissimo was a large luxury Avant with an aluminium structure, a 4.2-litre twin-turbo V8 and quattro drive, shown at the 2001 Frankfurt motor show. Audi never built it, but the study carried ideas that appeared on the 2002 A8 (D3), including the MMI operating concept and some styling cues. It was a design and technology showcase rather than a production preview.
