Cadillac Cyclone (XP-74) concept (1959)
Concept car · 1959 · Combustion

Radar-nosed rocket, one of Harley Earl's last dreams.
One of the last cars designed under Harley Earl, the Cadillac Cyclone paired towering tailfins with a clear bubble canopy that could retract under a rear clamshell. Radar antennae hidden in its twin nose cones warned the driver of obstacles ahead, an early crash-avoidance idea. It used a 325-bhp 390 cu in V8 with a rear-mounted transaxle.
