Ferrari P540 Superfast Aperta (2009)
Concept car · 2009 · Combustion

A gold, open-top 599 inspired by a 1968 Fellini-film Ferrari.
The P540 Superfast Aperta was the second Ferrari Special Project, commissioned by American collector Edward Walson. He asked Ferrari to reinterpret the gold Carrozzeria Fantuzzi barchetta that starred in Fellini's 1968 short film 'Toby Dammit'. Designed by Pininfarina on the 599 GTB Fiorano, the open roadster used extensive carbon fibre to keep the added weight from removing the roof to just 20 kg, and went from first sketch to road-legal car in only 14 months.
