Eric Clapton's one-off, a modern homage to the 512 BB.

The SP12 EC is a single one-off built through Ferrari's Special Projects programme for musician Eric Clapton, a lifelong Ferrari collector who had owned three 512 BBs. Based on the 458 Italia, its bespoke bodywork reinterprets the classic 512 BB's lines, designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre with Pininfarina. Under the reshaped skin it keeps the 458's 4.5-litre V8 and seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The car reportedly cost around GBP 3 million and remains one of the most personal commissions in the Special Projects catalogue.
