Italdesign Aztec

Twin-cockpit roadster for Italdesign's 20th anniversary

Shown at the 1988 Turin Motor Show to mark Italdesign's twentieth anniversary, the Aztec was a radical two-seat speedster with driver and passenger sitting in fully separated cockpits, communicating via an intercom. It used a turbocharged 2.2-litre Audi five-cylinder engine with a Lancia Delta Integrale-derived four-wheel-drive system. Unusually for a concept, a small series of roughly 18 cars was built for sale.
