A retractable glass-roof convertible built on the Thunderbird
Debuting at Detroit in 2004, the Mark X was Lincoln's first two-door convertible concept, featuring a power-folding, retractable glass-roofed hardtop. Designed under Marek Reichman and based on the final-generation Ford Thunderbird, it used the Thunderbird's 3.9-liter V8 (280 hp). Deemed too niche for a business case, it never entered production; the surviving prototype later went to auction.
