A retro, Beetle-inspired electric hatchback that drew VW's attention

Ora, Great Wall Motor's electric city-car brand, unveiled the Punk Cat at the 2021 Shanghai Motor Show. Its heavily VW Beetle-inspired styling reportedly caught the interest of Volkswagen's legal team, though Ora reworked it into a four-door hatchback for practicality. At concept stage Ora withheld full specifications; the car measured about 4,749 mm long on a 2,915 mm wheelbase and was expected to use a single-motor electric drivetrain similar to Ora's other EVs. A production Punk Cat followed in 2022.
