Amanda Sorensen drifting her 1,000-horsepower Sorensen Motorsports BMW in Formula Drift PROSPEC

First woman on a Formula Drift podium.

The first female driver to reach a Formula Drift podium, breaking through in the PROSPEC class more than two decades into the series.

From Las Vegas, Sorensen competes out of Sorensen Motorsports, the family effort she runs alongside her brother Branden, campaigning the No. 12, roughly 1,000-horsepower BMW in the Formula Drift PROSPEC division.

At the New Jersey round in June 2024, held at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, she finished second in PROSPEC, the best result ever recorded by a woman in the series and the first time a female driver had stepped onto a Formula Drift podium. Series president Ryan Sage called handing her the trophy a truly significant moment.

She had joined the series in 2021, and closed out the 2024 PROSPEC season ranked among the top of a deep field, cementing her status as a benchmark for women moving into professional drifting.
