A Moscow driver who won the Russian Drift Series in 2013 and again in 2015 on a right-hand-drive Silvia S15 with an LS3 V8, Evgeny Ruzheynikov kept racing in RDS GP into the 2020s.
Ruzheynikov raced a BMW for the Toyo Tires Gorilla Energy GT-Shop team in the early 2010s and won the RDS West title in 2013. That year he also lost the final of the Super Drift Battle in Krasnoyarsk to Georgy Chivchyan. His team was second in the team classification in 2013 and 2014 before winning it in 2015 and 2016.
For 2015 he switched to a right-hand-drive Nissan Silvia S15 with an LS3 engine, saying that BMW is one thing and Silvia another, and won the season opener at Myachkovo against defending champion Andrey Pesegov. A hard crash into the paddock wall at Myachkovo in August tore off a wheel, yet he came back and secured the title at the Nizhny Novgorod final, becoming for a time the only two-time champion.
He was third in 2016, lost the Myachkovo stage final to Ekaterina Sedykh after three tied runs, and took silver at Ryazan in 2017. He later raced in RDS GP in 2018 and 2020 and reached a top 8 in Sochi on a Toyota Altezza in 2022 to 2023, and is known to fans as the joker from the Backside.TV live show.
