Mad Mike Whiddett
Drift legend · New Zealand

Bigger anti-lag, brighter flames, fewer constraints.
The most cinematic rotary drifter in the world. Quad-rotor 26B builds, MADBUL, BADBUL, MADMAC, turn flame-spitting RX-7 and McLaren chassis into Goodwood and Red Bull-tier set pieces.
Mike grew up in Auckland and made his name through the late 2000s as a Drift NZ regular running rotary-powered Mazdas. The build identity was obvious from the start: bigger rotors, bigger turbos, the most over-the-top antilag in the paddock. By the 2010s the visible signature was MADBUL, a quad-rotor 26B Mazda RX-7 that became one of the most-filmed drift cars on earth.
The build catalogue runs through MADBUL, BADBUL (a second 26B FD), HUMBUL (a 4WS / 4WD Hummer drift truck), and most recently MADMAC, a quad-rotor McLaren P1 body that he debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2024. Each build is engineered as a Goodwood / Red Bull set piece first, a competition tool second.
In 2023 he ran the Hoonicorn V2 alongside his own RX-7 at Goodwood as the tribute lap after Ken Block's death. The visible handoff was deliberate: one media-driven car-control language to the next.
