VN Brio RS CVT

2nd gen (DD1) · 2019–2022FWD

Vietnam received the Brio RS with a CVT in June 2019. It uses the 1.2 L four-cylinder petrol engine and front-wheel drive. Imports stopped in early 2022 because the car did not meet Euro 5 emission standards. The model was therefore on sale in Vietnam for only about three years.

STORY

Honda launched the Brio in Thailand in March 2011 as a small, low-cost car for emerging markets. The first generation, coded DD1 and DD2, used a 1.2 L petrol engine, with a 1.3 L offered in Indonesia at first. India followed in 2011, Indonesia in 2012 and the Philippines in 2014. The Brio Amaze sedan joined the range, and a facelift came in 2016. Thai production ended in April 2020 and Indian production in 2018. The second generation was unveiled in August 2018 and is built only in Indonesia, with a 1.2 L engine and a choice of manual or CVT. Local markets have their own grade names, such as Satya, RS and Urbanite in Indonesia.
