The RVR 2.0 used the 2.0-liter 4G63 four-cylinder in the 1991-2002 RVR (N10/N20 and N60/N70). Sports Gear versions with the DOHC 16-valve unit made 160 PS, and the 1997 Hyper Sports Gear R reached 250 PS with a turbo, a rare hot MPV.

STORY

The RVR (Recreational Vehicle Runner) debuted in 1991 as a compact tall-wagon/MPV, an early example of the crossover-MPV format that shared roots with the Chariot. After the nameplate lapsed, Mitsubishi revived it in 2010 for a compact crossover SUV, sold globally as the ASX and as the Outlander Sport in North America. That model had an unusually long production life, running for well over a decade with successive facelifts.
