Premio 2.0 3S-FSE D-4 FWD automatic Sedan

T210 · 1996–2001FWD

The 3S-FSE in this T210 Corona Premio uses D-4 direct fuel injection, a newer technology for Toyota petrol engines of the period. The 2.0-litre four drives the front wheels through an automatic gearbox in a four-door sedan sold in Japan from 1996 to 2001. Direct injection is what separates it from the other petrol Premios.

STORY

The Corona Premio arrived in Japan in January 1996 as the T210 generation, a conventional mid-size front-drive sedan. Engines included the 1.8-litre 7A-FE, the 2.0-litre 3S-FE and the 3S-FSE with D-4 direct injection, plus a diesel line that moved to a 2.2-litre 3C-TE. Production under the Corona Premio name ended in December 2001, when it became the standalone Premio and the last model sold in Japan with the Corona name.
