Second-generation Kijang two-door pickup sold in Indonesia from 1985 to 1986 as an international-market model. It uses a 1.5 litre 5K four-cylinder petrol engine with rear-wheel drive and a manual gearbox. Toyota fitted the 5K in December 1985, replacing the 1.3 litre 4K, so this is the later, larger-engined version of the boxy F20/F30 pickup that carried the 1986 rectangular headlamps.

STORY

The Kijang went on sale in Indonesia on 9 June 1977 with a 1.2-liter 3K petrol engine and a four-speed manual, after a prototype was shown at the 1975 Jakarta Fair. The name is the Indonesian word for muntjac, a small deer. The second generation arrived in June 1981 and the third in November 1986. The fourth, launched in January 1997, produced the wagon nicknamed Kijang Kapsul. In 2004 Toyota moved the model to the three-row Kijang Innova, and the Kijang Innova Zenix of 2022 added a hybrid option.
