The Mark II Blit appeared in Japan in January 2002 as the wagon version of the ninth-generation Mark II and replaced the front-drive Mark II Qualis. It returned the wagon to a rear-wheel-drive layout, with optional all-wheel drive. The 2.0-liter 1G-FE, the 2.5-liter 1JZ-FSE with direct injection and the turbocharged 1JZ-GTE were offered, in iR, iR-S and iR-V grades. The 1JZ-GTE was dropped in May 2006 because of the 2005 emission rules. The Mark II sedan ended in 2004, but the Blit stayed in production until June 2007, with 38,733 built. The front-drive Mark X ZiO minivan followed in September 2007.
The Mark II Blit was a rear-drive wagon on the X110 Mark II platform, sold in Japan from January 2002 to June 2007. It used inline-sixes, from the 2.0-liter 1G-FE to the turbocharged 1JZ-GTE rated at 280 PS in the iR-V, with all-wheel drive available on the Four versions.
