Pronard was the name under which Toyota sold the second-generation North American Avalon in Japan, continuing the Avalon that Toyota had imported there since 1995. The cars were built at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, and sales began on 7 April 2000 through Toyota Vista dealers. The only engine was the 1MZ-FE, a 3.0-litre V6 with VVT-i rated at 215 PS (158 kW). Toyota listed the 3.0 at 3,150,000 yen, the 3.0 L at 3,450,000 and the 3.0 G Package at 3,800,000, excluding consumption tax, and aimed to sell 1,000 a month. The 3.0 L grade had a front bench seat for three. Production ended around November 2003.
The Pronard was Toyota's Japanese name for the American-built Avalon, sold in Japan from 2000 to 2004. A large front-drive sedan with a 3.0 litre V6, it was imported from Kentucky rather than built in Japan.
