Structural Blue · a morpho-butterfly nanostructure paint, born of Black Panther.
For its “Black Panther” partnership Lexus built the 100-unit LC 500 Inspiration Series, whose headline act is Structural Blue, a nanostructure paint (not pigment) developed over roughly eight months to mimic the light-bending scales of a morpho butterfly. The car pairs it with a white leather cabin, 21-inch forged wheels and carbon-fibre scuffs. Alongside it, the un-buyable “Black Panther Inspired LC” concept leaned into Wakanda fantasy: a vibranium “engine,” self-healing panels, panther-claw mirrors and a glowing blue underbody. Both bowed together at SEMA 2017.
