GMC's first concept: a Duramax-powered four-wheel-steering pickup
The Terradyne was the first concept vehicle ever produced by GMC, debuting at the 2000 Detroit auto show. A full-size pickup, it packed a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel V8 with an Allison automatic and previewed Quadrasteer four-wheel steering, which later reached production. Its four center-parting sliding doors, an extendable cargo bed, and onboard 110/220-volt power outlets fed by an engine-driven generator emphasized a work-ready, utility-first theme.
