Honda Dualnote concept (2001)
Concept car · 2001 · Hybrid

A 400 hp mid-engine IMA hybrid supercar with a four-door, four-seat body.
Presented at the 2001 Tokyo Motor Show, the Dualnote was an unprecedented hybrid all-wheel-drive sports sedan. A mid-mounted 3.5-litre DOHC V6 with Honda's IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) system drove the rear wheels, while two additional electric motors powered the front axle for a combined output around 400 hp. Despite NSX-like dimensions stretched to fit four doors and rear seats, it claimed roughly 42 mpg, with an Active Torque Transfer System distributing drive and regenerative braking wheel by wheel.
