Honda PUYO

A luminescent, gel-bodied fuel-cell city box designed to be touched.

The PUYO debuted at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show as a fuel-cell city concept built around a cornerless 'Seamless Soft Box' form. Its signature 'gel body' used soft materials for greater real-world pedestrian safety, and the surface was made luminescent to guide occupants into position and signal the vehicle's status. The name is a Japanese onomatopoeia for the sensation of touching its soft body. Power came from an electric motor fed by a fuel-cell stack.
