A 550-hp hybrid flagship reaching for the top tier
The Q80 Inspiration signalled Infiniti's ambition to break into the premium flagship class, a sleek four-door, four-seat fastback coupe. Its Direct Response Hybrid combined a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 (450 hp on its own) with an electric motor for a 550-hp system total and 553 lb-ft of torque, sent through a nine-speed automatic. Infiniti quoted a 0-60 mph time under four seconds, a 155 mph limited top speed and more than 42 mpg on the European cycle.
